Why I built Vela
After more than 10 years working full-time in software development, mostly as a Product Manager, I decided to quit my job when my son was born to focus on my family and spend some time traveling. That period gave me something rare: space to slow down and be deeply present with my family, which I will always be grateful for.
When I was back home, I found myself facing several areas of my life that needed attention. Many of them came with uncertainty, a quiet sense of dissatisfaction, and important decisions, each with the potential to significantly change the direction of my life.
What I learned during that time is that while some decisions are genuinely hard, the process of making them does not have to be. With the right structure, and by asking the right questions at the right moment, clarity becomes more attainable.
As I worked through my own life-changing decisions, it became clear how powerful it was to define a clear direction, translate it into meaningful goals, and break those down into measurable milestones and weekly actions. This made it easier to stay aligned, keep going without pressure, and experience real progress.
This is how Vela came to life
Vela is built to support people when things feel unclear or slightly off by offering structure, guidance, and a thoughtful decision-making framework. It helps you move from uncertainty or dissatisfaction in any area of your life toward clarity, decisions you can truly stand behind, and clearly defined goals. By breaking those goals down into meaningful milestones and manageable weekly actions with regular reflections on your progress, Vela helps you stay aligned over time and experience real progress.
